Covid-19 has severely disrupted livelihoods and economic activity all over theworld. Economic activities in most sectors in Kerala have also come to a grinding halt during the period of the lockdown. The State Government must soon combat the twin challenges of unprecedented loss or reduction in employment, income and output coupled with severe shortfalls in its revenues. It is Government’s immediate priority to formulate a strategy for economic recovery without any delay
Towards this end, Government of Kerala, vide G.O.(Rt) No.2945/2020/Fin dated May 5, 2020 have constituted an Expert Committee to conduct a study on the impact of Covid-19 and the consequent lockdown measures on the public finances of the State and on the various sectors of its economy.
